Sinopsis:
La región del Caribe se encuentra entre las más vulnerables del mundo a los impactos del cambio climático. Junto con gobiernos, comunidades y socios, TNC y la Federación Internacional están desarrollando un conjunto de herramientas de adaptación para promover una mejor toma de decisiones y resiliencia a través de la gestión de desastres que integra soluciones basadas en la naturaleza.
Esta sesión tiene como objetivo explicar la asociación y los desafíos detrás de esta exitosa colaboración en la Región del Caribe para brindar información sobre cómo implementar soluciones basadas en la naturaleza, compartiendo algunos de los conocimientos adquiridos y la experiencia adquirida a través del Proyecto Islas Resilientes. Los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de interactuar y consultar directamente con el equipo que apoya este increíble caso de estudio.
Synopsis:
The Caribbean region is among the world’s most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Evidence suggests that ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) can significantly reduce these risks and offers a cost-effective approach to climate-smart, sustainable development. Together with governments, communities and partners, the Conservancy and IFRC are developing an adaptation toolkit to promote better decision-making and resilience through disaster management that integrates nature-based solutions.
This session aims at explaining the partnership and challenges behind this successful collaboration in the Caribbean Region on provide insights on how to implement Nature-based solutions, sharing the some of the knowledge acquired and experience acquired through the Resilient Islands Project. The participants will have the opportunity to interact and inquire directly with the team supporting this incredible case study.
