Project Description

(English) During Y-Adapt, an interactive games-based curriculum, youth have been working on a way to prevent Malaria fever occurring more in their school. The school realized that there were frequent cases of Malaria fever among the students, resulting from mosquito bites. This is because of the lack of mosquito nets, presence of stagnant water and off tall grass around the school grounds. During this project the youth participants focused on cleaning their environment and about mosquito nets.

Firstly, during the project the youth participants did research. They realised that the students that suffer from Malaria monthly miss classes on a regular basis. Because of this, students their performances in school are negatively affected.

Because of the result of this research the youth participants were given a chance to address students on the assembly about the prevention of Malaria. Then we asked the students if they could ask for treated mosquito nets, from their parents.

Lastly, the youth participants continued helping with giving students mosquito nets, reducing Malaria fever cases in the school.
