Project Description

On the afternoon of Friday, September 21, devastating tornadoes touched land in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. Powerful winds tore roofs off buildings, shattered windows, ripped trees and fallen power lines. Immediately afterwards, hundreds of thousands of homes were without electricity. In coordination with local officials, the Canadian Red Cross has mobilized its disaster teams in Gatineau and Ottawa to register affected people and help provide shelter, relief and comfort.
