(English) During Y-Adapt, an interactive games-based curriculum, youth have been working on information campaigns. These information campaigns used IEC materials that helped people understand about the risks. The participants had their own ideas, shared it with their co-community members on what has to be done before, during and after the disaster of hazards.
Firstly, the youth participants went to attend training sessions about disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. They coordinated with the NGO’s who has a knowledge about the DRR and CCA, as well as the LGU’s.
After that, the youth participants and community created an action plan.
Then lastly, in partnership with the LGU’s, NCO’s, schools and community members, the youth participants went to different Barangay’s with their IEC materials, which is all about hazards, how to mitigate it’s effects and what to do to be safe and secure during a disaster.
