(English) During Y-Adapt, an interactive games-based curriculum, youth have been working on improving the drainage and pathways of the Barangay Catmon. This will result in the improvement of the waterflow.
Firstly, the youth participants did some research and investigation. They found out that the community people of Barangay, Catmon constantly throw their waste in the drainage or pathways, which clogs them and causes floods in their Barangay. Their most vulnerable there are the resident houses along the road. It was also found out that the drainage area or pathways of the Barangay are very small, what can cause flooding more easily and hinders the waterflow.
After that, the youth participants coordinated to the Barangay about the incident and observation. With this they Barangay made an appropriate action plan, that will address the problem. Then the Barangay did the necessary improvements of the drainage and pathways.
Lastly, the youth participants participated on the awareness raising campaign in proper waste disposal, and practise proper and regular draining of the drainage pathways.
