Saturday, 9th August – The Recycling Team, together with the Red Cross Team and Island Girls Rock, headed to Herbert’s Beach for a post–beach clean-up.
We were pleasantly surprised at how clean the beach appeared on arrival, but as the saying goes, seek and you shall find, and find we did! Hidden in bushes and tucked away spots, we collected plastic bottles, glass, and general trash. Our “prize” find of the day? A broken microwave oven.
Thanks to the previous clean-up, this round was much easier. A big thank you to the Herbert’s Beach Committee for their earlier efforts, and special thanks to the Red Cross Team and Island Girls Rock for partnering with the Nevis Recycling Project on this follow-up mission.
