(English) During Y-Adapt, an interactive games-based curriculum, youth have been working on clearing drains. If drains are clogged, the water can’t go anywhere when there is heavy rainfall. By clearing the drains, the water will be able to drain more easily.
Firstly, the youth participants investigated the drainages. They discovered that there is visible garbage in the drainages and canals, because the people throw their waste in the canal, which clog them and causes flooding.
Then the youth participants prepared and submitted the project proposal on clearing drainage to the Barangay captain.
Lastly, the youth participants coordinated to the community that every Saturday they will clean the drainage. Hopefully by keeping up this cleaning, they will lower the risk of flooding.
