Protection Gender & Inclusion (PGI)
Is a project of Population Movement Operation of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society in Cox’s Bazar. Thousands of Rohingyas (forcefully displaced from Myanmar) are living with utmost crisis and are deprived from their human rights, dignity and safety. PGI is working closely to ensure their full and meaningful access, dignity, participation and safety. Also it works to minimise gender inequality and inclusion of the other left outs especially the people with disability.
In this pandemic of Covid-19 there is strong need of their safety. Besides the health issue, there are many different ways of them being in worst situation. The number of Gender Based Violence (GBV)/Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) is too higher than ever, Lack of proper parenting invites danger for the children, Sexual Exploitation and Abuse is also occurring in a notable pace. Disrespect to the sick people is a common practice. So, to help this situation, PGI is trying its best to aware people, train volunteers of all sectors, make referrals on need based and sharing emergency information to minimise the exposure of these harms.
