Because of the water deficit that affected our country, in the period from October 2017 to April 2018, where 14 departments were declared in emergency by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries; The Uruguayan Red Cross launched an international mechanism for emergency response funds, known as the D.R.E.F (Disaster Relief Emergency Funds). These funds allow the implementation of disaster response projects that meet the needs of the people affected by the event.
Some of the actions taken in this opportunity:
• Distribution of drums for the storage of drinking water.
• Dictation of workshops for water potabilization.
• Delivery of personal hygiene kits.
• Cash transfer for affected families.
• Delivery in rural schools of 1100 lts tanks. and chlorine and ph meters.
