(Español) Red Cross responds to Region 9 floods
GRCS volunteers, in collaboration with the Region 9 authorities, have been, over the last 3 weeks, continuously monitoring the flood waters in Region 9, Lethem specifically.
GRCS volunteers have assisted families in evacuating their homes – currently over 45 families have been evacuated. The affected community members have indicated that they haven’t seen this level of flooding since the 1980’s.
Region 9 Flood: All NIT(National Intervention Team) trained personnel are asked to be on alert. GRCS has so far sent in hygiene kits, jerry cans, rubber boots, mosquito nets, clean up kits amongst other things.
