Project Description

20 gallons. That’s the total amount of blood Randy Miller has donated over the past 52 years with the Red Cross.
In 1973, just after graduating college, Randy decided to donate blood for the first time at a blood drive hosted by his workplace.
“For me, giving blood was something easy to do, didn’t require much time, and most importantly, might provide a lifesaving need for someone,” Randy said. “My father had a massive heart attack at age 51 followed by quadruple bypasses in the early days of open heart surgery. Without the many donors providing blood for his surgery requirements, his life might not have been saved.”
Now 74 years old, Randy has kept all of the donor pins he’s received for his first 19 gallons in a shadow box, with room for one more — his 20th.
“They may not have financial worth, but hold many memories and spiritual worth for me,” he said.
Help us celebrate Randy in the comments for reaching this incredible milestone! We’re so grateful to dedicated blood donors like him who help make our mission possible. ❤️
