Project Description

In the period from March 17 to May 10, 2020, volunteers and persons professionally employed by the Red Cross in the Republic of Serbia, on the occasion of the current COVID-19 pandemic, realized 352,904 actions of assistance to individuals.

In the territory of 161 cities / municipalities, 2,823 volunteers were involved in the Red Cross operation aiming to provide accurate information about epidemic and provide most urgent needs to most vulnerable population in the situation of lock down. The contribution of Red Cross volunteers is reflected in the 222,782 hours invested in providing assistance to all who need it.

Despite the numerous data available to the Serbian Red Cross, the contribution of Red Cross volunteers to the activities carried out by Red Cross organizations in Serbia on the occasion of the COVID-19 pandemic is immeasurable especially
bearing in mind the commitment, responsibility and humanity that adorns Red Cross volunteers.

In the same period, 685 professionals, through 131,534 hours of engagement, expressed their readiness to be part of the overall activities in the Republic of Serbia to combat the corona virus epidemic by providing assistance to all who need it, and especially to persons belonging to the most vulnerable groups.
