During Y-Adapt, an interactive games-based curriculum, youth have been working on promoting responsible ownership. Mostly informing people on how to be responsible pet owners. This will help keep our community clean and prevent health problems that may occur, because of the garbage scattered by loose pets.
Firstly, the youth participants observed that stray dogs tend to overturn garbage bins, scatter trash and leave their excrements on the streets. This can cause pollution, which is bad for the environment and the excrements can cause health problems.
After that, the youth participants coordinated with the local Barangay officials and proposed a plan to meet with the pet owners in the area, to inform them about how to be responsible pet owners and how this will help keep the community clean and safe.
Lastly, the youth participants helped clean scattered trash, posted signages and posters about responsible pet ownership and pet care tips. They also gave out flyers to local pet owners.
