After a fire in the basement of a 300-unit residential building in Center City forced all residents to evacuate, the American Red Cross Team & Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management hosted approximately 175 residents at a West Philadelphia High School shelter.
Because most of the residents were elderly and spoke only Mandarin, Disaster Health Services and translation volunteers played a critical role.
Thanks for your support to the Philadelphia Fire Department, Philadelphia Police Department, SEPTA, The Salvation Army Philadelphia, Mütter Museum, School District of Philadelphia & American Red Cross New Jersey Region!!
