The Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross Society are partnering with local authorities to address food scarcity during COVID-19.
In an initiative to increase the nation’s food capacity, and championed by member Adolph Audain, ABRC volunteers brought their energy and green thumbs to assist in sowing 35,000 crop seeds including pumpkin, ochro and beans.
Seedlings will then be distributed to the public in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Farmers Forum. The Forum aims to reach at lest 7000 households within Antigua & Barbuda at a time when COVID-19 raises concerns of food scarcity.
