Esos medios de vida agr\u00edcolas son altamente vulnerables a los eventos clim\u00e1ticos extremos y las crisis relacionadas con el clima. La articulaci\u00f3n entre los esfuerzos por lograr la resiliencia de la poblaci\u00f3n rural y la protecci\u00f3n social representa una gran oportunidad para avanzar en la superaci\u00f3n del hambre y la pobreza. En esta sesi\u00f3n desarrollada por IFRC en colaboraci\u00f3n con la Organizaci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas para la Agricultura y la Alimentaci\u00f3n (FAO), un panel compuesto por autoridades gubernamentales y especialistas en resiliencia y protecci\u00f3n social compartir\u00e1 experiencias y propuestas para una agenda ganar-ganar.<\/p>\n<p>SYNOPSIS:<br \/>\nAbout 75% of the extremely poor population live in rural areas and most of them depend on agriculture for their livelihood. These agricultural livelihoods are highly vulnerable to extreme weather events and climate-related shocks. The articulation between efforts to achieve the resilience of the rural population and social protection represents a great opportunity to advance in overcoming hunger and poverty.
